#3 The Pelicano
The Pelicano Restaurant is a beautiful restaurant right on the water front on the Port of Ilwaco. Smack dab in the middle of the port it is the perfect place to stop while you are out walking around the shops on the Port. With its fresh fish and fine wine it is the spot for fine dining in Ilwaco.

When on vacation, couples are always looking for a place to have a quiet, intimate night out that is not to hard on the bank account. Well, The Pelicano is just that place. The Pelicano has the food and feel of a french restaurant but with a gorgeous view of the port.

Shelly Hedges and Jeff McMahon have over 20 years of cooking experience cooking in restaurants all over the globe including Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, New York and Portland, but they have been Peninsula locals for more then 7 years. In these 7 years of falling in love with the Peninsula they have found all the things that make it so beautiful and their restaurant brings it all together. They start with fresh food which celebrates the wonderful fish and shellfish of the Pacific Ocean, Columbia River and Willapa Bay, because as Shelly and Jeff like to say “The very best meal starts with the highest quality ingredients”. Then they use their walls to pay tribute to the many talented local artists, it gives the restaurant a wonderful homey feeling.

Eating at the Pelicano is an amazing experience because it is like finding a local treasure making you feel like a Peninsula Local. I would definitely suggest to anybody to go there and try the Dungeness Crab Cake with Greek Cucumber Salad and Lemon or any of their other delicious seafood dishes, you won’t be sorry!
