This little hideaway is a gem, conveniently located on a quiet street, nestled between a bakery and a pizza parlor. Quiet neighborhood, and a well appointed clean family home.

Absolutely wonderful experience! We stayed at the “Handy Hangout” since we needed something for our kids. It was perfect! Super well equipped and the kids enjoyed all the toys and games! Perfect location and easy access to the beach within a very short drive. Amber was so helpful when we thought we had forgetting a beloved stuffy (we eventually found it thankfully). But she checked in on us during our stay via text message and was a delight.We did leave a lengthy “experience expectation” sheet with loads of information, both items we would liked to have, found items needing replaced or repaired and even many reason why we loved it!We look forward to staying again in the coming year!

Great get away for every generation. Soft linens beautifully equipped kitchen, laundry and baths. Full fenced yard for fur babies. Bakery, Gas and Pizza within walking distance.

It was a great experience staying at the Handy Hangout.

This is one of the best Vacation Rentals we have stayed in! So well stocked and the drive to the beach or into town is really straight forward. My kids loved the play room, and it was nice to be able to bring the dog. It was a bit of a bummer to be location near a busy intersection because the fence is chain link so not a lot of privacy. This was literally the only downside though, and I would recommend this place to my friends!

Very pleasant experience and when we told Staff the BBQ didn't work, they brought a new one the next day.

Affordable place to stay with many amenities. Having the yard for our two smaller pups was a plus. Only complaint is the musty house smell that would not go away. We left the stove vent on most of the time and luckily the weather was great during our stay to let air flow through the home. Nothing a couple candles can't fix. We would for sure stay here again if it's just our small family only again. More than 4 people with pets could be a little cramped.

With four kids and a dog, it is difficult to find affordable, adequate vacation homes to fit everyone! Through a promotion, we got this property for a good price, and it was excellent. One room had space for four to sleep (bunk bed and a pull out day bed), so our three oldest children (8, 6 and 4) slept there, while our youngest (2) had his own room. My husband and I enjoyed having an en-suite bathroom, and the bath tub in the other bathroom worked well for bathing our kids. Initially, we were a little worried about the location due to potential noise (the kids don’t sleep—we don’t sleep). It is across the street from a gas station and next door to a tavern. However, it was very quiet and noise was not an issue. The gas station was actually very conveniently located for us when we needed to pick up some cough drops. We also ordered food from the tavern, and it was nice to be able to walk a short distance to pick it up.
The yard was fully fenced, which despite the poor weather, was great for our younger children and our dog.
The garage was set up like an additional play space, with a tv and lots of toys. The washing machine and dryer were also a huge bonus. The kitchen was extremely stocked. We really enjoyed our time at the Handy Hangout.

Overall a great experience. Location was good for us, the house was equipped with games and all the supplies we needed. The arrangement of the furniture was awkward, and we would suggest labeling the remotes. The yard was good size for our pest.

Our family of 9 took an after Christmas trip to the beach and rented this house. 7 of us stayed in the house and 2 stayed at the Mermaid Inn next door.
The house was comfortable and well appointed. It had all the amenities we needed plus a few we didn't know we needed. My dog had a great time playing with the neighbor dog in the fenced back yard. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans and utensils. Most of the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and well done. We had a fantastic time hanging out at Handy Hangout.

Great base for going to the beach, into town, Cape Disappointment. Place was clean. Best equipped kitchen of any rental I’ve stayed in. Lots of bathroom and laundry supplies.

Perfect for dogs, very clean, everything you need to prepare food, quiet and will definitely stay again.

The house was comfortable and modern. The kitchen had good pans and tools. Room arrangement was good for 2 families. Living and dining room was good for games.

This little house was very clean and well stocked with everything we might need to be comfortable. There were lots of pillows, towels, comfy throws, kitchen and bathroom essentials. The only things we found to be less than stellar were several overhead lights flickered constantly and the garage smelled like cigarette smoke...other than those things, it was a great experience!

4 day stay for a mini vacation with my two fur babies. Wanted somewhere quiet to concentrate on school work that was close to the beach. Fenced yard was very handy for the dogs and the beach was a 10 minute walk or 5 minute drive if I wanted to take my car on the beach. There was a bar next door but I did not hear anything from it even on live music night! If you are looking for somewhere quiet, just outside the main town, this is it!

This rental experience was perfect from start to finish. Property description was very accurate. Reservation, email notification, billing and access information were handled smoothly and in a timely manner. Property location was ideal....quiet and away from the busy downtown area yet close enough for easy access. The property manual, in addition to the usual list of expectations, included hand-written information and suggestions for local activities. One minor issue regarding the backyard was promptly addressed by the property management. It is always my practice to inform management of early check-out in order to give them ample time to prepare the property for the next customer. In-person contact and comments were received with appreciation and professionalism.
