Looney Bin

This was the second time my wife and I stayed at the "Looney Bin". We jokingly refer to being aptly qualified for renting this location. This is a relatively spartan rental cabin, in that it does not have fancy finishes and modern features. It is as advertised -- somewhat rustic, plywood walls, heated by wood stove.Probably what we appreciate the most is the private setting, where background noise is minimal, and one barely sees other people. The minor appliances, paper products, and many household items are well stocked. There is a generous supply of firewood, and the wood stove adds ambience (if you appreciate that kind of thing). There is one firm bed, one soft bad, and one sofa has a pull-out bed that we did not use.The old saying, 'you get what you pay for' is somewhat relevant for this rental. The price is quite reasonable, and so are the features of the cabin, if your expectations are not aimed at 'luxury'. We did not experience a moment where we thought, "the Looney Bin really needs to have _____".We will definitely rent this cabin again, if Bloomer Estates will have us. :)

Our family has been coming to Long Beach from Canada every summer for 30+ years. When our regular cottage in town stopped renting last year, we were stuck, but we saw that Bloomer Estates had a lot of places on the peninsula. We worked our way through the listings and decided on the “Looney Bin”, as it had so many good reviews. Turns out they were true. It’s just a smallish, “open concept” cottage, but it suited us perfectly. We loved the rustic, wooden walls and sitting on the back deck in amongst the trees – it was so peaceful that it was almost like a cabin in the woods. There was no roughing it though, the cottage was so well stocked with supplies in the kitchen, towels in the bathroom bedding for the beds, etc. It was all good. We were very comfortable there, close to Ocean Park and minutes from the beach access. Plus the staff at Bloomer Estates were very helpful and would check in to see if there was anything we needed. They would reply right away if we had a question, but left us alone if not. We had a lovely, peaceful, relaxing week there and are already looking at dates for booking next year!

The Looney Bin was in a beautiful part of the Discovery Coast. It was tranquil, close to the beach, and well stocked with supplies and niceties, all adding up to a lovely stay. The beach is almost like a private one, but there is plenty of action in Long Beach. Cape Disappointment and Oysterville were wonderful places to visit. A very comfortable stay and memorable experience.

This place lacked nothing!!

Was really impressed with Bloomer’s communication and responsiveness! Aside from the rental being pretty tricky to find (street number isn’t marked, google maps inaccurate- bloomer did provide alternative directions but they were a bit unclear), all other logistics were great- door code worked, Wi-Fi was good, instructions were clear. Clean, cozy, plenty of extra linens and blankets. The place was less private than I expected from the pictures but it has a nice big yard. Would definitely stay again :)

All features were as advertised. Comfortable bed, lots of firewood, great location for the event that we attended nearby.

Enjoyed our second stay at Looney Bin. Love the quiet location north of North Beach and 5 min. from Ocean Park. Easy access to beach. Cabin is cozy and just right for 2-4 people. Kitchen has everything needed. Recommendations by Bloomer Estates very helpful.

Conveniently located for our attendance at the annual car show in near by Ocean Park.

The Looney Bin was the perfect small home for me and my son to stay in during our 5-day annual fishing trip to Ilwaco with Sea Breeze Charters. This small home was just what we needed. My recommendations would be to put some lubrication on the sliding glass door and add a sliding screen feature to keep bugs out when getting fresh air. Bloomer staff are ALWAYS the best at helping you find the perfect place in the Long Beach vicinity! Huge kudos to Robbie and Dabra!

Cabin is just right for 2. Location was a bonus - north of Long Beach on quiet lane with short walk to the beach. Large windows and sliding glass doors create a warm atmosphere. Loved the deck. Guest book with pictures of original cabin added to the unique features. We will book again.

My husband & I decided to rent a vacation home instead of a motel and we chose the Looney Bin managed by Bloomer Estates Rentals. We're glad we did. The Looney Bin is a quiet, cozy little house nestled in trees right off the Pacific Hwy. The wood burning stove made the cabin very warm and comfortable. The directions given at the time of reservations were very precise and helpful. The house is located between Long Beach & Ocean Park where it was a short drive to either town to have meals, shop or have access to the beach. It rained the entire 4 days so we spent most of our time indoors or driving around the peninsula. The locals are very nice and made us feel welcome. We love Long Beach and will continue to vacation over there. Someday, we would like to purchase a home and retire to the beach.

The cabin was perfect for me. Nice and clean! I invited a couple of friends to visit while there. The accommodations were perfect for us. The cabin is just a short walk to the shore and was very quiet. I was disappointed that there was no WiFi in the house, but was able to drive to the library to find a connection. Otherwise things were perfect for me. I may decide to book again next fall.

The building and grounds were all we could anticipate. Location was good for this trip. It was difficult to locate the property. Describing it as being on Loon Lane, located apx 150 feet north of 210th Place (and adding a couple of photos of the drive entry) would have made locating the property simple. Removing a typographical error in the direction (8 Mile Market) would help, too. Kathy was great! She did all she could to make our stay a 5 out of 5 visit.
